About the Artist
Lynn Waelde
Fine Art Photographer
Lynn Waelde is a New Orleans native who has practiced photography and meditation for almost her entire life. Following training in photography and photographic printmaking during college, Lynn applied for several jobs as a photographer but was only hired once, to make glass plates from telescope images in an astronomy lab. Fortunately, she kept her day job and is now a Professor Emeritus in the Psychology Department at Palo Alto University and Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a widely published psychology researcher who specializes in treating trauma using mindfulness and meditation.
Lynn Waelde has exhibited her photographs throughout the United States. Two of her photographs (South Boulder Creek I and II) have been chosen for permanent display in the new Imig Music Building of the College of Music at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her photograph, South Boulder Creek II, was chosen by Guilford Press as cover art for her 2022 book, Mindfulness and Meditation in Trauma Treatment.
