Lynn Waelde NatureForms Art Photography

These photographs are an expression of my mindfulness and meditation practice. In the course of mindful observing, we see beautiful things, even in what is small and imperfect, like a tiny flower emerging from a crack in the sidewalk or the pattern of weathering on a building. These photographs are meant to express that nature itself forms art, with no need for modification, seeing the beauty of nature in all phases from coming into being to death and decay. By looking mindfully, we are awakened to the beauty in ordinary things and in ourselves. I use photographs to convey the beauty I see in nature in hopes to spark the joy of recognition and reunion and to remind that this elemental beauty is vanishing.

Most of these photographs are printed on metal to make them close to our experience of these sights in nature. Metal photographs have an elemental, natural quality; there is no glass separating us from the image; they are recyclable and sturdy and invite viewers to reach out and touch them. They are durable and suitable for public display and private collections.
